Data Type and Format Restrictions for Noah ES

Data Type and Format Restrictions for Noah ES

The following changes apply only to applications that use the Noah ES API. They have been implemented since 2022. The introduction of a new API provided the best opportunity to promote more modern data formats.

Changes:

  • Any public data storage must use format 500 or higher. Format 500 and higher are XML-based data standards.

    • Storing data in older header-based formats is not supported.

  • Any public data storage cannot have the format set to 0 (zero).

  • If action data is read and the format is less than format 500:

    • A Noah ES app can be read in the stored format if it can understand the older non-XML format.

    • A Noah ES app can ask Noah ES to convert the data to 500 or higher.

      • For example, the app cannot ask format 100 data to be converted to format 200.
