How to show file extensions

Some troubleshooting steps may ask you to rename a file extension. For example, you may need to rename BusinessSystemSettings.xml to BusinessSystemSettings.old.

By default, many file extensions are hidden in Windows.

Please see the steps below to make file extensions viewable.

  1. Open File Explorer:

    • Click on the File Explorer icon in the taskbar or press Windows + E.

  2. Go to View Tab:

    • Click on the View tab at the top of the File Explorer window.

  3. Enable File Name Extensions:

    • Check the box for File name extensions.

You should now be able to see the file extensions for all files.
